Battery Design Studio® is a unique tool that allows engineers to design lithium-ion batteries, simulate performance, and analyze data.

CD-adapco is the distributor for Battery Design Studio® produced by Battery Design LLC, making this breakthrough product accessible to a worldwide audience and bringing it within the tried and tested product support model pioneered by CD-adapco.

Battery Design Studio® will also now be distributed through an annual licensing scheme, similar to all other CD-adapco products, which allows the user to lease the code rather than purchase it outright. This lease model also includes all product updates throughout the year of the lease and provides access to a dedicated support team within CD-adapco, thus creating an infrastructure which ensures users of the code will be successful in their endeavors.

This announcement in distribution strategy coincides with a significant improvement in features within the Battery Design Studio® product. Imminent releases will now contain the ability to discretise a battery cell into a user defined resolution allowing the capture of internal gradients within a simulated battery cell. As the battery market moves to larger format lithium-ion cells, so does the prediction of such internal gradients and therefore their effect on battery performance becomes increasingly important. This architectural change will be contained in the established, easy to use graphical user interface of Battery Design Studio® and supports the entire suite of battery models available in the code.
